Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/2 pounds raw salmon
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice This was 1 lemon for me, but this will vary based on size.
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Regular paprika is fine.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh slices of lemon Optional garnish.

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat, 375 degrees.
  • Place the fish on a piece of foil or rack. Rub both sides of the fish with olive oil and lemon juice then sprinkle the spices onto both sides of the fish. Rub the spices in to ensure the flavor penetrates.
  • If using foil, seal the foil around the fish.
  • Place the fish on the grill. If using a grill rack, grill the salmon uncovered.
  • Grill the fish for 8 minutes. Unwrap the foil and continue to grill the salmon uncovered for an additional 2-5 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
If you aren't using foil, grill the salmon for 8-12 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

Notes

When seasoning the fish, ensure the fish is fully coated with spices. Add additional spices if necessary and you need them.
