½cupbuttersoftened
1 ½cupconfectioners’ sugar
2tablespoonsbrandy or whiskey*
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1/8teaspoonkosher salt
Instructions
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine softened butter and confectioners' sugar. Mix on medium until the sugar is absorbed, then increase the speed to high until the mixture is smooth, approximately 1 minute.
Add brandy (or whiskey), vanilla extract, and salt to the mixture. Mix on medium for about 30 seconds until smooth and evenly combined.
Serve the hard sauce over any warm dessert for an extra kick!

Note: For a non-alcoholic version, replace brandy with 1 ½ teaspoon rum extract.
