Beef Chili

Beef chili is a classic American recipe that is served year-round. It's a hearty & flavorful dish made from ground beef, seasonings, and other ingredients like tomatoes, onions, and garlic. Beef chili is eaten around the country with different regions known for having their own spin. Easy to make, and a crowd pleaser, this beef chili will have people coming back for more!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil of your choice
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 10 ounces diced tomatoes with green chiles
  • 2 15-ounce cans red kidney beans (rinsed & drained)
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, crumbling the meat as it cooks, until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Add garlic and cook an additional minute.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to mix well. 
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for approximately 20 minutes.
