This Sprite Cake with cake mix recipe is a super easy dessert with just three ingredients. Top with optional lemon lime cream cheese frosting for family reunions and cookouts.

3 Ingredient Lemon Lime Cake
15.25ozYellow Cake Mixyour favorite boxed cake mix works well in this recipe
1.5cupsSprite1, 12 oz can of sprite
2largeeggsbeaten
Lemon Lime Cream Cheese Frosting
8ozCream cheesesoftened
½cupButtersoftened
1cupPowdered sugar
1tbspVanilla extract
½Lime Zestabout 1 tbsp
½Lemon Zestabout 1 tbsp
Instructions
For the soda cake:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Add the cake mix, sprite and eggs to a large mixing bowl. The mixture will be bubbly at first. So, gently use a rubber spatula to fold it together until incorporated.
Add the batter to a greased 9x13 (or other rectangle) glass baking dish. To grease my pan, I simply sprayed the entire pan with cooking spray.
Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool.
For the frosting:
Add all of the ingredients for the frosting to stand-mixer and mix until fluffy (about 3 minutes).
Add the frosting to the cake. Top with lime or lemon slices and/or zest and serve.
