Slow Cooker Homemade Baked Beans

After you make slow cooker homemade baked beans, you'll never buy store-bought again! This easy recipe uses dried beans that do not require presoaking. You can also make this homemade baked beans recipe in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces dried white beans
  • 8 ounces bacon chopped
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt (or more)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 cups water

Instructions

Slow Cooker

  • Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.
  • Cook HIGH 5-6 hours or LOW 10-12.

Instant Pot

  • Turn on the pressure cooker and select sauté. Once hot add the oil & the onion and cook a few minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook an additional minute.
  • Turn off the pressure cooker. Pour in the water and deglaze the bottom of the pressure cooker by scraping all the bits off with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the dried white beans, bacon, onion, garlic, ketchup, molasses, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the Instant Pot. Stir to mix well.
  • Close lid and seal valve. Cook high pressure for 60 minutes.
  • When cooking time is complete, natural release pressure for 15 minutes then quick release any remaining pressure. Stir & serve.
