Ingredients

  • 5 cups water
  • 5 tea bags like Lipton or Luzianne
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (by taste) up to 1 1/2 cups
  • lemon or lime optional

Instructions

  • Add water to a medium sized pot over high heat until boiling.
  • Once boiling, remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 10-20 minutes (the longer you steep, the stronger the tea).
  • Stir in sugar in increments until it completely dissolves into the hot tea and taste as you go.
  • Remove tea bags from the pot then pour the tea into a pitcher then add more water to fill it and serve with ice.

Notes

Feel free to go up to 6 tea bags if you prefer a stronger tea.  Also you can steep longer to concentrate more flavor.
