2cupsChicken brothlow-sodium
½cupHeavy Cream
2tbspButterUnsalted
1/2cupGritsQuick, 5-minute
1/2cupSmoked Gouda Cheesefinely shredded (this often comes as a block or wedge and would need to be shredded first)
½tspBlack pepper
Instructions
Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and butter to a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring the liquids to a boil
Sprinkle the grits over the boiling liquid
Turn the heat to medium-low
Stir occasionally and cook for 3 minutes
Stir in the cheese and black pepper. Continue to cook the grits until the cheese is melted about 2-3 minutes.
Top with black pepper and garnishes. Serve immediately.
