Ingredients
2poundsboneless, skinless chicken thighsseasoned with salt and pepper
1 1/2cupsBBQ sauce
1/3cuponiondiced
2clovesgarlicminced
2tablespoonsbrown sugar(optional)
1tablespoonoil of your choice
Instructions
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until soft, approximately 3-5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook an additional minute.
Add the the BBQ sauce and brown sugar to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Add the chicken.
Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Remove the chicken from the pot and shred. Place the chicken back into the pot. Mix until well combined with the sauce.
