Savory Mashed Sweet Potatoes

These savory mashed sweet potatoes are the perfect sweet and savory side dish. Uses simple ingredients. No boiling or peeling beforehand.

Equipment

  • 6-quart Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sweet potatoes washed and rinsed, no need to peel
  • 1 cup water cold water, for the Instant Pot
  • 4 tablespoon butter salted, cut into 1 tablespoon pieces
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon 24 Herb Sprinkle Seasoning Bragg's
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoon sour cream

Instructions

  • Add the sweet potatoes to the steamer insert of an instant pot. Pour in one cup of water.
  • Pressure cook the potatoes on high for 12 minutes.
  • Use quick pressure release to remove the lid.
  • Allow the potatoes to become cool to the touch. Then peel off the skin.
  • Add the potatoes to a large bowl with the butter (the hot potatoes will melt the butter or you can use melted butter) and the remaining ingredients.
  • Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes.
