Flavor Options

  • Spices: Sprinkle some nutmeg, cinnamon, or a bit of cloves on top. You can also infuse the eggnog with these spices by heating it gently with them and then straining before serving.
  • Extracts: Add a splash of vanilla extract or almond extract to enhance the flavor profile.
  • Fruit Zest: Grate a bit of orange or lemon zest on top for a citrusy twist.
  • Whipped Cream: Top your eggnog with flavored whipped cream, such as cinnamon or nutmeg whipped cream, for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Sweeteners: If you like it sweeter, consider adding a drizzle of caramel or a sprinkle of brown sugar on top.

Can You Make it Ahead of Time/How to Store

You can make the drink no more than a day or two in advance of when you plan to serve it. This ensures that it remains fresh and flavorful. Store it in the fridge tightly covered and sealed.

The eggnog will likely separate over time due to the alcohol content. If this happens, simply give it a good stir or shake before serving.

Freezing

I don’t recommend freezing. The texture of dairy-based products, such as milk and cream, change when frozen and thawed. This may result in a less desirable consistency, and the eggnog could become grainy or separated.
