What Type Of Crab To Use

I used lump crab meat for this hot crab dip recipe. Like most of my recipes, I encourage you to use the type of crab that fits your budget and taste buds. Canned crab, backfin, claw meat, jumbo lump…use what works for you.

Serve crab dip is with crackers or some type of bread. This dip is low-carb & keto friendly. If you follow that lifestyle, celery is another option.

FAQs & Tips

  • Store leftover crab dip in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Get creative! Don’t like crab? Use cooked shrimp and make this a hot shrimp dip.
  • Do not forget to spray the slow cooker with cooking spray before adding the food. This will help the dip not stick to the pot.
  • This is not a recipe that can be left on the slow cooker WARM setting. If you do so, the dip will continue to cook and burn.
