- Sweet Potatoes: Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into large slices or chunks.
- Seasonings: The seasonings is a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- Pecans: Use your favorite nut. I like pecans with this recipe but other suggestions include walnuts or almonds.

How To Make Sweet Potatoes In The Slow Cooker
Making sweet potatoes is very easy when you use an appliance like a Crock-Pot (slow cooker).
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the orange juice into the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add half of the potatoes the slow cooker. Pour half of the brown sugar mixture on top. Add the remaining sweet potatoes and top with the remaining seasonings.
- Add the butter on top.
- Cook HIGH 2-3 hour or low 4-6. You’ll know it’s done when the sweet potatoes are soft.
- Top with pecans before servings.
